Wait, a dryer that fully DRIES??? Incredible!!

I believe my old Whirlpool dryer would be my forever dryer, but then it wouldn't fit through the door of our brand new house on moving day. The universe was conspiring in my favor as the only full sized machine that'd fit was the ONE machine I wanted. THIS ONE. So, on moving day (my birthday!) here I am in the appliance store buying this dryer. Now every day I do laundry I feel like I've died and gone to laundry heaven because this machine dries a heavy load of towels in ONE cycle! ONE. My old Whirlpool (with the new heating element I just put in) always took two or even three cycles to get towels dry. I really appreciate the many options to customize any drying cycle, including heat levels and being able to choose HOW dry you want your load. Fully drying takes a bit more time of course, but the sensor is spot on. When the big load of towels comes to an end, it's really and truly DRY. The filter is easy to access and clean, too. LOVE this dryer.

We purchased this dryer less than a month ago to match our SQ washer we got six months ago AND LOVE. This thing SUCKS. It squeaks every single cycle. No, it is not rubbing on anything. It is the cheap plastic bearings the drum rotates on. How do I know this? We've had a certified repair person out TWICE in a month to fix it. We were told "You can't stop a dryer mid-cycle. It warps the bearings the drum rolls on." Okay, fine. I'm not a repair technician, I just have 40 years of experience using dryers. I have NEVER heard this before, nor have I ever owned a dryer that broke because it was opened mid-cycle. I know stuff was built better in the 80s and 90s, but SQ is supposed to harken back to the quality of those days. Sorry, this sucks. The 2nd time the technician came out they said the plastic bearings are supplied by a new supplier and the component is weaker. "Speed Queen knows about this" they said. So, to save money, you got a new supplier to provide a crappier part that requires a dryer to cool down or the crap plastic part will warp. Sorry, any family with young kids will struggle with this (because kids are going to open dryers like kids have always done for all time). I hated our old dryer, but it was multiple tiers better than this thing.

arrived broken, works well after repair

I purchased the dryer (and the matching washer) because my old gas Samsung dryer had stopped heating and I did not want to spend several hundred dollars to repair it. I waited (whithout working dryer!) 4 days for delivery, then the unit arrived with a dent in the bottom corner. I chose to overlook that, as it would not be seen. Unfortunately, the next day I found that the unit didn't work. I was again without a dryer for almost 2 more weeks as I waited for a repair person to determine the problem (broken igniter), order the part, then come back to repair. I asked many times over that 2 week period to just replace the dryer with another one, but was refused. Now that the dryer is repaired I must be fair and confirm the dryer is quiet and drys very well. I do wish the end of cycle signal was a bit louder as you cannot hear it if you are not standing next to it.

Another powerhouse of a machine! I think my only complaint is that when any settings are changed, it automatically sets to 'mostly dry' instead of 'dry'. I don't like my clothes damp, I'm more concerned about dryness than I am about wrinkles. Especially since we sometimes have to leave the clothes in the dryer for a few days. But this is a small nuisance, it's an awesome dryer.

The control panel is very self explanatory, as well as having features such as a pet hair removal cycle and steam sanitizing. Fabulous dryer for a pet household

I am a pet owner and I absolutely love both the pet and the steam features of this dryer. The Pet cycles really do remove excess fur from our clothes and from pet bedding very effectively. The steam cycles do everything from reducing wrinkles to sanitizing laundry. I love the preset settings and I can also customize the settings based on my own experience. Finally, I love the lint screen. It is so easy to clean and it does not allow big lint chunks to drop into the dryer. A lot of thought went into this dryer and it shows. Very happy with this purchase.

Very expensive Dryer was a total waste of money!

Dryer was dumping water into drum from first day of installation. Had warranty repair company come to our home and they tore entire new dryer apart in our home to install a new water valve for the steam function. Next day the dryer was dumping water into drum again and is still defective. Called appliance store about the problem and they told me it was not their problem, and we were stuck with this defective unit and had to deal with warranty repair which has so far been ineffective. I will never buy another Speed Queen appliance again!

They dryer dries well, however we have a repair man out her 3 times since we purchased it. It makes a loud thumping sound. The technician has had to replace the wheels twice. He showed me where the rubber on the wheels is being broken down. He called customer service and they said that your company is aware of the issue and that you engineers are working on it. For what we paid, I believe that all customers deserve a new unit. You should discontinue the sale of this product until the issue is resolved.

Dumped our 7 year old piece of you know what LG machines that didn't wash or dry clothes, and had gunk in every washed load, and had to dry clothes 4 and 5 times to get them dry. Chose the 7000 series over the 5000 and have been super happy. They just work like good machines are supposed to. Would do it over again in a heart beat. Wish I had done it sooner.
