Broke after 14 months, Kitchenaid unhelpful

This broke after 14 months. When you turn it on it makes a grinding noise and turns intermittently. We've reached out to Kitchenaid multiple times over several months, but apparently they can't find the order (I bought it on kitchenaid.ca), and refuse to do anything without an invoice, as if I'm trying to repair a fake mixer or something. Very frustrating. Luckily we still have our older tilt-head model which still works.

Worked good for the first 10 months.

I bought this 11 months ago and it broke last night. I noticed about a month ago the speed wasn't the same as it used to be. It says this mixer can handle up to 13 cups of flour in your dough mixture. I doubt that statement. I've only ever made triple batches of cookie dough which uses 6 cups of flour and it struggles at the end of mixing. Now I'm at my busy season again, right before Christmas and it won't even mix icing. I'm very disappointed that I paid what I did and it didn't even last a full year. My very first kitchenaid lasted me 10 years. This is not commercial material.

Best dough mixer i ever used.

I own and used the 8 quart kitchen aid commercial mixer for 5 months. I have worked in a bakery for 5 years and we used Hoberts and Kitchen aids . The 8 quart is the quietest mixer and every thing about it is great. No issues so far. The Dough hook is very easy to clean. Stainless bowl is easy to clean and no sharp edges. I wish the 8 quart was available 48 years ago. I owned 5 and 12 quart Hoberts and this 8 quart is the best mixer i ever used. Mike Kaplan

8th time using for dough, tab broke off bowl while mixing. Look at the pictures - 3 tiny welds holding the tabs on that hold the bowl in place. Result: tab broke clean off, bowl started oscillating, entire holding apparatus ruined. This is NOT a commercial design - maybe the motor is, but the bowl is a cheap, very bad, joke.

Great mixture but the speed dial has some issues.

This mixture is great, functional, holds up well. However my first one the speed dial started acting funny within a couple months. Hesitating to go to the higher speed or just shutting off when pushing the dial to a higher speed. Kitchaide has been great-replaced it without charge. But now my second one is doing the same thing. I don't mind getting new replacement ones but I wish it would just work without issue for a few years.

I bought the unit over a month ago and I thought it was going to be able to hand my light commercial baking that I do. Are use it for making Dough for a pizza truck that I have. Now mind you I only make 8 ounce does for a porch so I am normally doing two batches of dough at one time which equates to about 3 pounds of flour and other ingredients to make the pizza dough. Right out of the box it was not able to perform as a commercial sold machine. This machine is good for a home cook or someone that is doing cookies, small batches of dough and not really looking to produce large amounts of product. I am now trying to sell it and I am not getting any bites close to the money that I paid for it. I feel I'm going to be stuck with this machine. Take my advice and do your homework and really research the machine you need.

Excellent stand mixer

This is my 3rf kitchenaid mixer. Not because of mixer failures, but every mixer was an upgrade. When I thought my baking goods were sufficient, requests increased and I knew I had to upgrade again. Through much research, I landed on this model. Thank God for kitchenaid and the adaptive sizes of their mixer options! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this model. I can now triple batch my recipes which has cut my time to more than half. Productivity is up and my new mixer is exceeding my expectations (although I've never doubted this brand)! It is a larger mixer than my old one but even more quiet in comparison especially when I'm whipping up a double batch of buttercream icing!! I highly recommend this model for avid home bakers and even in commercial businesses!!

I received a week ago this mixer is big enough to handle very large batches with ease. This is replacing a over 30 year old smaller KitchenAid that is being passed onto my daughter. most of the attachments I have will fit this one The only one that will not work on this one is the ice cream maker which uses the beater hub too mix and the hub is larger on this one the bowl will fit and KitchenAid could design an adapter that would work as an add on. I will have too buy a new ice cream maker made by another brand.

We purchase the Serie 8 quarts Kitchen Aid and could not have made a better choice. It is quiet, perform well and we even made ice cream using dry ice for 4 hours for a special event and it did not even flinch! It is easy to clean and very sturdy. I received this for Christmas and was swept away with excitement and genuine happiness. I have the newest of the Flour Power 6 mixers in addition to this. My luck in the past has been met with horror as my KitchenAid Mixers break down and constantly need to be sent to the mixer repair center, which is very costly for me. The new addition to the appliance family in my kitchen has out performed to my highest expectation. The only problem I have is that the lift bowl rim has several rough raised burrs that need sanding down and touch up paint applied. For the price of the unit which was over $1,000, it should be in pristine condition, not only with operation but cosmetic appearance as well.

It is a great machine, but don't be fooled it is not for commercial use. What it is good for, is if you like to make extra big mixes. I would not recommend this to a person that does very little baking and does small mixes. The six cup machine will be much better for you.

Ok Folks...you cannot go wrong with this one, hands down it has longevity, great service, and just always works. I received mine Christmas of 1978 with the dough hook, the whip, and flat beater. For 38 years that beauty has decorated my kitchen counter and still looks like the day my then fiance bought it for me. Hubby and I had our 35th Anniversary this year. And my Mixer is running great. I bought this a month ago and I love it! I also currently have another kitchen aid artisan mixer and I use my commercial mixer for large cake size batters and even can double the recipe which saves me time. When I make swiss meringue buttercream, it requires constant mixing and this one can handle it without worrying that the machine will overheat or breakdown.

Bought this mixer a month ago - and to -date have no complaints :) - it is very quiet and efficient! Cleans up well and works well for large batches - up to 6 X recipe - save a lot on time! The cage on the top is a bt of pain - having to unscrew to clean - otherwise its amazing!!

I purchased the 8 qrt Kitchen Aide Stand Mixer. I love it! It is so simple to use. I have other items made by Kitchen Aide and love each one of them.

The heavy duty style of this machine lives up to it's appearance. It can handle the thickest of batters and doughs without struggling. I love this machine!

Absolutely wonderful! Perfect!!

It's built last. I mean, 'pass down to your grandchildren' built to last. (I speak from experience because my grandmother left it to me.) It stays right in place while it's in use...so you don't have to worry about it walking off the counter. It's powerful and makes the best dough, even the tough ingredients like sprouted wheat flour. I absolutely love it and I show it to every guest that visits my home. I recommend the Commercial Series to every home chef I know, and several have bought it and thanked me with the pasta, bread, cakes, sauces, meatballs, and doughs they've made. Recommending this model has been great for my diet! Haha. I've been eying the grain mill attachment since I got the mixer because I want to make my own flour, and I'd finally decided to buy it...then two days later my mixer was stolen. It's the only thing they took, so I must have told the wrong person about it and they just came to get it. I came here to check the current model number and to see how much money I'm going to have to save to buy a replacement. No longer having it is a major bummer and saving the money is going to take forever (single dad). It's worth it, though. I'm super looking forward to having one again!! The closest thing I have to a complaint is that it isn't available in KitchenAid's 'Espresso' (or some other dark brown) color. I think that would look even cooler than the red. (The red is pretty awesome and you know it's a KitchenAid from a mile away.) If you're here looking at it, then I assume you're considering purchasing one...and I totally recommend you do it. I can't imagine you being unhappy with it.

An outstanding mixer

Best addition to my kitchen so far. It can handle anything smoothly and efficiently. I would recommend this for anyone who enjoys baking. The only complaint I might have is the chute is somewhat awkward to use. But the mixer more than makes up for that.

Broke within the first two months

faulty speed switch. If I try to boost my speed it turns off. I have tried to reach out to the company 3 times and phones calls are never returned.
