Professional delivery and installation is available for every product we sell. We would be happy to coordinate delivery and installation for you.

Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Frustrating Features

bbnola 11/21/2019

I purchased the commercial mixer about 1 month ago and have been using it daily. Removing the attachments from the mixer head has proven to be incredibly frustrating, especially when the bowl is full of product. Removing the paddle attachment requires two hands and leveraging the full weight of my upper body to remove it from the mixer. Further the low clearance provided when the bowl is in the lower position makes it very difficult to scrape down the sides of the bowl when mixing. Besides these two frustrating aspects the Commercial Series mixer seems to be well built.

Purchased this mixer a couple of weeks ago and we couldn't be happier. It is very powerful but much quieter than the 6qt it replaced. Love the stainless attachments that are dishwasher safe.

Beautiful Red color

I was scared of the color. All 5 other kitchen aids I have are white or stainless. But I decided to go crazy and I'm glad it did. I've only used the machine once and seemed sturdy.

lots of room

ViMiller 6/6/2019

I have used the Kitchen Aid brand for 35 years. I do so much baking and this larger appliance helps me to be more efficient by being able to do more batches at one time. I do wish that every model would have the feature of lifting the head. My particular model does not - it's the only thing I wish would be different. Otherwise I love it.

Love the Capacity!!

AmyGirl45 1/8/2019

I received this as a Christmas gift from my husband. I've only used it a few times, but I love the capacity. I made a double batch of cookies with no problem. However, when I made bread, the dough hook didn't reach close enough to the bottom of the bowl to incorporate all of the dry ingredients. I still have some tweaking to do, but I love this mixer.

Well deserved upgrade

8/15/2016

I replaced a Kitchenaid Pro 600 with the KSM 8990 Commercial mixer. A well deserved upgrade. I made bread weekly and this mixer does a great job. Kneading time is cut in half. Easily kneads a 2 loaf recipe (7 cups flour). I was concerned that a 1 loaf recipe would not work well but was pleased that it did a great job (3 cups flour). I did call the company about a rhythmic click, click noise when under load but they assured me that it was not an issue. Possible future concerns. Of course it is under a 2 year warranty if it does become a problem. It is a heavy machine. It does not "walk" around like the Pro 600 did. It fits under the upper cabinets on the counter snuggly. Looking forward to years of use.

Powerful and Plentiful!

8/7/2016

As a cottage industry baker, I've owned two kitchenaid stand mixers - a 5 qt and a 6 qt. Both were wonderful, but now that i'm making larger cakes (full sheet cakes) I needed a mixer with more power and more capacity. My new commercial 8-qt mixer meets those needs and then some! And, although it's a commercial mixer, it still looks great in my kitchen - the dark grey cabinet is handsome and sleek. I would highly recommend it for any "home" baker.

Fantastic Mixer

7/28/2016

While making some dough for a very large gingerbread house, I discovered that my 34-year old, 5-quart KitchenAid was just not going to be able to handle the job. I completed a couple half batches of the dough recipe; but, the motor was clearly stressed. With a lot more dough to make I decided to get the larger, commercial grade mixer. The 5-quart has been so fantastic I didn't consider anything but KitchenAid when looking for a new one. It was an excellent decision. This mixer breezes through a full batch of the dough recipe like it's nothing. For the cake, gingerbread, and chocolate creations I make I need a tough mixer. This one can obviously handle anything I want to do.

Two weeks in and two thumbs up

7/19/2016

My husband bought this mixer as an upgrade to my 4.5 quart Kitchenaid after I started a small cookie business and needed to increase my dough output. The smaller mixer could handle two batches of dough at once, but I worried about the long-term wear. The new 8-quart one just blows me away - it doesn't even seem to notice a triple-batch of dough. Smooth operation, and I really love the slow start which keeps me from splattering things, though that did take a little getting used to since it takes a few seconds to ramp up to speed. The only downside is that the tilt-head models make it easier to add ingredients after you've started mixing, but this isn't a big deal. (Lowering the bowl just about makes up for that.) I also don't love the orange cord, which is apparently a requirement for NSF certified appliances, but it hides behind the mixer ok and isnt' as noticeable as I'd first feared. It's only about 3-4 inches taller than my smaller Kitchenaid - still fits under the cabinet on my countertop, quite nicely.

Great product

7/19/2016

We've been using this machine in our busy restaurant/catering company for the past 6 months. As the only table top mixer in my kitchen it gets quite the workout. It's withstood plenty of use and runs as if it just came out of the box. It's extra large bowl is so nice too helping keep from having to run a second batch when just a little more is needed.

7/3/2016

I bought this mixer about a month ago. It is a replacement for my Professional 5 quart mixer. It is still working after many years. I needed a larger bowl for my bread making. I will probably pass my old mixer down to my step daughter. Could not ask for anything more. I just really love it. Looking forward to many years of use.

Best stand mixer!

7/1/2016

I love my stand mixer. It has made my job so much easier. It works great and has no problem running all day. I did have one small problem with it but KitchenAid handled it immediately. The KitchenAid customer service might be the best! One suggestion - they need to come up with a guard to prevent stuff from flying up into the crack between the mixer and the thing that turns.

High-quality attachments sold me on this mixer.

4/8/2016

I bought this mixer to replace a Kitchenaid Professional 600 model, which generally performed well but had a couple of problems: It was noisy and the attachments, specifically the flat beater and the dough hook, were of poor quality. I had both the plastic coated and the burnished aluminum attachments; the former chipped and peeled and the latter oxidized. For some reason neither Kitchenaid nor any other vendor I could find makes stainless steel attachments for Kitchenaid home-style mixers. However the commercial 8-quart Kitchenaid does come with stainless steel attachments, and they are dishwasher safe. It's also much quieter in operation than the Professional 600 model, which makes a terrible whiny racket when cranked up to high speed. The commercial model does seem to strain a bit when kneading a large batch of bread dough, but otherwise works very well.

I bought this mixer to replace an existing Kit hen Aidmixer that had broke. I do a lot of baking and this commercial mixer is fantastic. I had made Easter bread and boy my new Kitchen Aid did a great job. The only downfall is, I wish there was a cookbook just for this mixer due to its huge 8 quart bowl.

I have been using this product for several weeks. It replaced an 8 year old KitchenAid KSM150PSMC whose internals froze and gears stripped. I frequently make bread and making bread (more than one loaf) requires power, which this one has to spare. One caution, if you have a service interrupter (thing with red button on an outlet found in kitchens and bath) this may cause it to open and shut off the circuits power if you are run in another appliance the same time - this is not to be unexpected due to the current draw of the motor. So far the mixer far exceeds my expectations.

needs improvement

2/4/2016

I have 2 Kitchen aid mixers. The first one was a 4 quart and it worked beautifully. It mixed well, dough blade worked well...so I thought I would upgrade to the commercial version of the mixer. There are 2 problems with this mixer: 1. The length of the blades (dough blade, whipping blade) are different lengths. So when you make whip cream with the whipping blade, my mixer works fine...but when you use the dough blade, it is shorter and does not reach all the flour or whatever is at the bottom of the bowl. This is a problem that needs to be fixed. 2. It seems to make a clicking noise when things get alittle heavy in the bowl (ie: when I made butter, I put whipping cream in the bowl using the whipping blade). When it was liquid...no noise...as it turned to whip cream (alittle noise) but when it turned closer to butter it was clicking (in the motor section not in the blades) KitchenAid needs to fix this...it is definitely not a commercial grade mixer other than a powerful motor...but if you can't properly mix things, what's the point ? Another issue is when you put the bowl in the mount, it is difficult to get the whipping blades on the mixer. you need to put that in the bowl first...then mount the bowl...then mount the blade. My old mixer (with the tilt back) was easy to mount the blades

Kitchenaid Commercial Stand Mixer

12/17/2015

I have gotten into baking homemade bread in past few years. I had been using my Kitchenaid Artisan Stand mixer. It did ok but as I started making more rustic and heavier dough, the Artisan would start to labor, so I decided to look for upgrade.I found the Kitchenaid Commercial, I could not find a great deal of information on this mixer, but I was happy enough withe my Artisan, so I decided to give the Commercial a shot, as it was much more powerful, had the upgraded dough hook, and large 8 at bowl. Again my main use would be bread dough. I got my new mixer Thanksgiving week 2015. Even though I purchased primarily for dough, my first task would be 10 lbs mashed potatoes for family thanksgiving. First let me say all the attachments are great heave quality, not that my Artisan are not good quality, but the Commercial attachments are over the top. This mixer knocked out 10 lbs of mashed potatoes in no time at all, and worked flawlessly. Next task, now for my bread dough. I did not do a large receipt, I had 3 cups of bread flour and 1 cup of cracked wheat flour, malt, yeast. I began to knead, the machine had plenty of power, but the bowl had movement and I could hear the metal bowl rubbing the bowl clip on the stand. I continued on with my knead for 8 minutes, the dough was great, but this bowl slip/noise really bothered me. The next day I tried with more dough, basically just to check out the problem. I made sure bowl was properly secured, and that the problem was not user error. It just did not seem to me that there should be any movement or metal rubbing or hitting noise, in a machine of this price. My smaller Artisan makes no noise, as the bowl does attach in different fashion. So I called Kitchenaid Customer Service, and man let me tell you, their CS is second to none. I explained my concern, the rep told me she was not in the Commercial department, but ask me to stay online, and she would bring a commercial rep into our conversation. After another explanation they informed me they wanted to replace my mixer, said they were shipping out a new unit and asks me to put my mixer in box of replacement box and send it back to them. You can't ask for anything more than that. My new mixer is great and quiet, no noise no problem. After comparing the two mixers, I think the problem was a defective bowl, not the mixer itself, regardless, they took care of me, and I am very pleased with the performance of this mixer, the size is a little bigger, but not a beast, on my counter. The commercial does not have a tilt head, that takes a bit of getting used to, but I understand the design is what it is. I have now had this mixer for about a month and have used it about half dozen times, and I am happy with my purchase. Don't think you can go wrong here, I am not a commercial baker, just wanted a premium mixer for home use making rustic bread dough, and I now have it.

GREAT for pizza dough!

11/17/2015

I did a great deal of research on the various Kitchenaid mixers, as we just built a pizza oven and have a mile-long list of guests who want to come for dinner this next year! The mixer is being used for the thick dough, so I worried about the pull on the motor. I was SO thankful that one of the reviews I read suggested paying just a little bit more and going for this commercial model. My husband loves to cook, but has always used a hand-held Kitchenaide, but this machine has him sold on the stand mixer for dough!

Commercial Stand Mixer

11/11/2015

I bought this mixer a week ago and have been using it everyday. I have a small food business and this commercial mixer is helping me increase the amount of bread I can sell. It is a life saver.
