Love the mixer

We've had our mixer for six years and used it often. Unfortunately the low stars are due to the glass bowl. Love the mixer but the glass bowl chipped yesterday when barely bumped another bowl. Looking to replace the bowl but very unhappy at the high price to replace.

Great artisan mixer, bowl cracked too easily!

I've loved my blue artisan mixer and use it all the time. Sadly, I barely bumped the bowl and it's cracked. And I'm having a hard time finding a replacement for that model -- and you can't buy the same one (gray rubber base) solo and not attached to the mixer. I'm not getting another mixer, so if someone could kindly help or has a suggestion. Holidays are coming.

So frustrated! Got this as a gift last Christmas and thought hey I'll put it to use and bake some cookies with my 2 year old daughter. While getting the mixer out of the cabinet the bowl falls off, barely a foot and half off the ground, and shatters and cuts my daughters finger. I'm glad it was just a minor cut it could have been so much worse. Ridiculous. Do not purchase wish I would have seen the reviews prior. Sad that such an expensive product isn't made to be durable

I agree with the reviews of this glass bowl option for the stand mixer. Love the mixer, but to have to spend so much to replace the bowl, which has chipped seems ridiculous. It should be better quality. Are there other options for a replacement bowl? Mixer is made to last, but not the glass bowl.

I received my mixer as a gift and have made candies cakes cookie pies etc with the mixer. It works great.....Bowl not so great now looking for a reasonable bowl replacement before my Christmas bake off. So far all run 60.00 or more with shipping. May have to use my hand mixer and bake less this year. NO GLASS bowls...go metal. Thanks

Broken bowl

The mixer itself is great but do not buy the glass bowl! I bumped it on the metal mixer attachment and it totally shattered. It seems a lot of people have this issue. The replacement bowls are$75*+

My daughter bought me this mixer as a gift it's a beautiful navy blue and I loved it until yesterday when the bowl as I picked it up to move it's my kitchen island. I'm so disappointed I would not recommend this bowl to anybody. It could be dangerous.

I love the glass bowl; especially since I leave my mixer on the counter. However, not two months after purchasing the bowl the top cracked....No I didn't hit it against anything. I continued to use it and of course true entire bowl is NO MORE! I paid too much for the mixer as a WHOLE to have to purchase a glass bowl separately! I have multiple Kitchen Aid products that have been purchased throughout the years that are older but STILL work! UNBELIEVABLE

I bought each of my girls a mixer. Only one with a glass bowl. Loved it until.. the mixer was mixing a cake mix and the whole side of the bowl broke. Lucky nobody got cut. Is there a defect?

Looks great on a counter, but I'm too afraid to use and break the thing. Plus it weighs more than me! (If I had a stainless steel one I'd bake more)

Broke for no apparent reason!

I have had my kitchen aid mixer for years, and love it. However, I'm truly disappointed with the glass bowl! I received the glass bowl separately as a gift and I loved it - being able to see the bottom of the bowl and that everything was mixed. But.....for no apparent reason, my bowl just cracked! I can see from reviews here that this seems to be an issue; I'm glad I have the stainless bowl that originally came with the mixer because I don't have $80 to go buy a new glass one! There's seems to be a defect in the glass because the pictures of how they break look so similar!

No thread ring?
Lordlord

I bought this bowl as a replacement for my original glass bowl that broke. The replacement came with no thread ring like the original had. I did not save the thread ring on my broken bowl; frankly, I did not even know it was removable. Do I need to purchase a thread ring to use this bowl? The packaging doesn't say anything about the thread ring.

We have purchased two bowls and they have both broken. They were not dropped, out into the dishwasher or anything. Both of them broke while mixing. Theses bowls are too expensive for them to break so easily.

Broke while mixing!

So I was mixing a fondant recipe same as I always do and have done a dozen times and the bowl just broke , I could not believe it. I've only had it for about a year I thought these things were supposed to last , so not sure why or how it happened but super bummed about it considering I have to make this 4 tier birthday cake and don't have an extra 69 bucks to go get a new one so anyone thinking about getting glass bowl u may want to re consider I'd rather have the stainless steel bowl

Breaks too easily

I have had this bowl for a little over a year and after much use, mine broke. When taking the beater off, I have always tap it on the side of the bowl, but this last time, the bowl broke. Oddly enough, it looks just like the same location on the bowl as the previous person posted. Now I know there's a defect. Unfortunately, I don't have my receipt as it was bought over a year ago and KitchenAid tells me they can't do anything. Quite an expensive bowl that's cheaply made.

Great mixer but bowl is a problem

I love the versatility of my 5 quart tilt head mixer but unfortunately I have just broken my third glass bowl. I have noticed that this is a problem with this model. Fortunately I have my 6 quart model to fall back on but a little heavier to mix one batch of cookies. Please fix this problem

I have had mine for almost 9 years now and couldn't be happier with it. It is much prettier than the metal one and since I keep my mixer on my counter top, that matters to me. It has held up beautifully over nearly a decade of near constant use, so I'm very happy!

BREAKS EASILY
Britt36

I have had the KitchenAid mixer with a glass bowl for several years. While replacing the bowl last week I BARELY (cannot stress that word enough) tapped the side of the bowl on the attachment rod and a giant chunk of glass just broke off. I have since read that others have even been injured and these bowls shattering mid-mix! Be CAREFUL and I advise going with a metal bowl instead. The mixer itself works perfectly well, that I will say. But I would not advise getting one with a glass bowl. So disappointed but glad I was not injured. KitchenAid has, so far, just told me to purchase a new bowl as my mixer is outside the 1 year warranty.
