I bought this mixer a month ago and have enjoyed using it. While making the pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving the splash guard came in very handy so the pumpkin mix didn't splash all over the kitchen. There are numerous attachments/accessories for this mixer that can be used to make any dish from ice cream to noodles. It is very easy to use and clean up. I love it!

Some years ago I owned a Hamilton Beach stand mixer whose attachments could not reach the farthest reaches of the bowl and whose sharp whining motor stabbed through all other sound. The KitchenAid Artisan is not anything like that. It runs relatively quiet but was able to beast through the bread doughs I have made, and the attachments reach as far to the surface of the bowl as possible without actually scraping metal. I am absolutely pleased with my purchase here.

A little disappointed

Mixing bowl is too deep and narrow in my opinion. To scrape sides you have to turn off mixer and lift up, then the attachment is in the way. Plus the bowl is locked in so to be able to get the sides good you have to unlock it. Preferred the older models where the bowl turned.

I've been baking for years and finally purchased the stand mixer. It's amazing! I've been able to use the dough hook to make bread, which works great. I bought it in Pistachio green and the color is great in my kitchen.

Love the handle on the bowl

We registered for this product for our wedding and it works wonderfully. The old mixer that we used did not have a handle on the bowl and it was a little awkward at times to use. The bowl is light and has a handle, which makes it easier for me to scoop out cake batter one handed.

Dough mixing!

This appliance is a dream! After 5 uses, I love it! 3 minutes using my kitchenaid mixer for making bread dough is equivalent to 10 minutes of kneading by hand. I started making sourdough loaves 2 years ago. The recipes all vary but even the no knead recipes need manipulating so this appliance is definetly an aid. The large batch of cookie dough I made was no match for this mixer.

I've been wanting a stand mixer for YEARS! just haven't really had the budget for it with caring for my family and putting their needs first, well my.husband finally said to go for it and think about me for once, so I pulled the trigger and got myself the Pistachio colored 5qt mixer, and IM IN LOVE!!!. I would have loved a 6qt with a glass bowl but wasn't finding a color I was in love with (when I'm spending hundreds of dollars on something I want something I love). Well so far with it, I've made homemade cinnamon rolls, cheesecake, whipped cream and am going to make some cookies this weekend!. I'm so happy I was finally able to get a mixer. I cant wait to get some attachments and see how amazing they are as well

Works great for making bread

I bought it for less than a month but it is working perfectly. I have made several types of bread and they have all come out great. While you follow the instructions and suggested speed specified on the instructions it should work out great for you.

I had a tilt head years ago and have since been using the Pro 600 lift model. I always missed the ease of the tilt head for bowl removal and ingredient additions. I don't cook for a crowd anymore and this is the perfect size for me, yet it will accommodate larger recipes if needed. I tried the mini but that was too small. The pistachio color is different than I thought it would be (kind of milky not clear) but it has grown on me. With the tropical ceramic bowl, it is a beauty.

A Dream Mixer!

There's only one problem

I love my stand mixer and the attachments. There's only one thing I don't like and it's that it doesn't always mix what's in the bottom of the bowl. But if you don't mind using some elbow grease to mix the bottom together your be golden.

I received this as a holiday gift, my electronic wish list was hijacked and it's been one of the best invasions of privacy yet. I love it, I love the color and I've been cooking and baking up a storm even for things I've traditionally done by hand. I would give this a perfect 5 but for some reason it seems to tilt forward when I use some of the attachments (like the pasta one). When I go to swipe the pasta off, it will tip forward but aside from that I love it and it's a beautiful yet functional visual in my kitchen.
