DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

This stove is going to the recycling center ASAP. Hoping we can find something made with some quality. The two main problems we have with this less than one year old range are: it is supposed to be self cleaning but that feature does NOT WORK. The first time it didn™€™t clean my oven at all through a full cycle, I contacted my dealer and the repairman said it didn™€™t clean because of a bad latch. He ordered a new latch which he installed and yesterday I tried the self clean again. I used the highest level of cleaning possible, the cycle went for 6 1/2 hours. My range is STILL dirty and now I have the additional problem of burnt on dirt where the oven vents. I scrubbed that vent for over 1/2 hour today with a Mr Clean magic eraser and it looks no different than when I started. We will NEVER buy another Kitchen Aid range with results like this. I urge you to choose something better. I™€™m just sorry I had no choice but to at least give 1 star before I could write a review.

Great except the knobs turn on TOO EASILY

We had an incident where someone bumped one of the knobs and it slowly let out gas for an hour or so. It barely moved so it didn't click the ignition. Really bummed about how easily they can turn on with barely a nudge.

Mediocre, bad customer service experience

I've been using this for about a month. I hoped it would be amazing, fantastic, and worth the extra money trying to buy American made. I was sorely disappointed. It does function, mostly. The burners are either high or low, no medium setting. My old stove I had very precise flame control, but unfortunately not here. It's high or kinda low. The biggest burner is so big, the center of the pan is a cold spot. The center burner, made for the griddle (which I never received - (fed ex blames KitchenAid, and vice-versa, coordinating scam - you decide) is so low, I can't cook pancakes or eggs, or anything. It can function as a keep warm, that's about it. The ovens are pretty good so far. It's summer so I haven't really tested it outside of peach cobbler and French fries, which turned out ok. Customer service has been a true nightmare. The chat won't get you to a person, about an hour and a half on the phone will. Good luck actually getting something resolved. It works well enough that I won't try to return it, considering my past experience with the customer service.

We recently purchased this stove to replace an older Kitchenaid appliance. I am so happy with it! It has a slightly industrial look to it, which I like. The knobs are easier to read, and the top is very easy to keep clean. We bought a second Kitchenaid because it has a double oven ( used a lot) and we wanted a white stove, which is not easy to find. It works beautifully.

Upgraded from an electric double oven convection range to a gas KitchenAid and wish I'd done it sooner! Love the convenience and control with gas, plus love that the control panel is more intuitive than what I had before. Plus, the capacity accommodates my larger baking sheets better than my prior oven. My only frustration has been in acquiring the griddle top that the description indicated was included, but you do not actually get with the oven. You are supposed to receive an email from the manufacturer once you have registered your product - which I did not. When I called to ask about it, I was tasked with finding the model number for the griddle top on my own, after bouncing through several customer service reps. Then was told I would receive an email once shipped - which three weeks later I still have not received. I absolute love the oven and am looking forward to being able to use the griddle feature someday!

Great stove

This is an exceptional piece of equipment and makes cooking a pleasure. I™€™ve discovered that high quality cookware is pointless without a high quality stove and oven to provide the heat applied properly. I rate this item as being 5+ stars, but had to bring it down to 4 due to a couple of quality escapes from the factory. The first issue was with the handle on the upper oven being loose. One of the screws was hand tight and the inner liner had to be removed so that the screw could be tightened. The second issue was the upper oven took over an hour to reach 350F. It was obvious that there was an inadequate amount of gas getting to the burner. I checked the nozzle using gage pins and found that it was .027™€ undersized. Upon closer examination, I was able to see that there was a burr that was blocking the orifice. There was evidence that the nozzle had been drilled properly and deburred but there was a chip restricting the gas flow. Once that was cleaned up, the upper oven got to 350F in 9 minutes. Neither of these were a huge deal for me but I can see how some customers would get upset by having these types of issues. I highly recommend this appliance for individuals that are looking for a stove/oven that will deliver professional results in the kitchen.

Gas double oven

I ordered my range in Oct 2023 and was told it would not be delivered until April 2024. Surprise it was here right before Christmas! So faf I love it! I am still learning to use it but everything seems good. See no problems with the lower oven's heating or preheating time, takes no longer than a normal oven in my experience. Will give another update if things do not turn out. Do wish upper and lower had therir own timer.

I've had my new range for about a month so far, and I love it! I wanted a smaller oven that would heat up quicker to bake cookies, pizza, biscuits, casseroles, etc. and this one does the job well. There are only a couple of things that I was a little disappointed in and one was the burner grates are only 2 pieces, very heavy to move and clean, and second thing there isn't a broiler in the lower oven, however, it is convection, so it may not even be necessary, I haven't used that oven very much so far. Bottom door is very low making it hard to retrieve cooked items . Bottom rack with sliding tray makes pans slide which can cause to slide forward and off the tray if not careful.

Worst customer service. Warranty sucks!!!

I bought a new range and after a month the flames were not working properly. It took at least 2 weeks for the technician to come out to check on it and order parts that are back ordered. It has been almost a month now and my family and I have not been able to cook. We have gone out 3x a day for a month to go out and eat or have food delivered. I have reached out multiple times to different customer service and no one seems to care. If your range ever breaks, good luck in getting it fixed. My range is still broken and cannot be used and I have no expected date to have it fixed and no one is helping.

Lower oven never held Temperature

I am so done with being furious at this oven. I am now going to leave the review it has deserved since 2016. I purchased model KFGD500ESS new from a local appliance store. A double oven was put into service immediately. Pies and turkey cooking at the same time was the goal. Right out of the gate I was disappointed and perplexed that the lower oven NEVER kept its temperature. I never expected it to hold the temperature exactly but to cycle up to the set 500° temperature and then drop to 430° for 10 minutes at a time before going back to the necessary temperature absolutely RUINS biscuits. After a couple years of trying to set the temperature 30° to 50° above what was on the recipe I gave up and called the 1-800 number on the stove and got a Kitchenaid tech out to hopefully resolve the issues with this $$$$ model. He reset a lot of things and checked the boards and declared it perfectly normal to cycle down to such a recipe ruining temperatures before cycling back up again™€¦ never holding that top temperature long was ™€œnormal™€. I forget what he charged me for that but it was around $160 I believe. Punitive enough to put me off trying to get another tech out. The lower oven does not hold the convection temperature either. It™€™s extremely frustrating. The temperature is even worse at lower temperature. 350° NEVER HAPPENS. It goes to 350° maybe for a minute and then holds around 330°™€¦ Cooking a turkey requires constantly checking the oven temp and trying to set it higher to approximate normal functioning. I™€™ve given up entirely, trying to bake pies or cookies in the lower oven. The upper oven behaves much more predictably but it™€™s too small for chicken or anything else. I wanted the two ovens the appliance promised. I just ruined a batch of biscuits by putting them in a ™€œ500°™€ oven for 5 minutes and then reducing to 450° for 12 minutes. Because I stupidly put them in without checking that the oven was actually still at 500° even though the display still said 500°. The temperature was actually resting down at 430°™€¦. 7 years of owning this stove and it still punks me in the early morning when I just want it to act like a normal oven. Please for your own peace of mind, if this appliance does not hold its temperature and you are wondering if it™€™s ™€œyou™€, do not waste a moment. Return it as quick as you can. Years of frustration over such a pricey beautiful promising oven is just not worth it. I know someone who has the same ™€œlooking™€ appliance but it must have a different model number because their Kitchenaide always worked as expected.. I had been using that oven and that™€™s why I chose to get one for my own kitchen.. But my frustration is complete. Please beware. There are lemons in this series.

We waited 5 months to get this very beautiful white (very rare these days when everything is chrome) range. It's great. Only one thing I wish had been given more thought: The display screen is wayyyyyy too small, especially for us older cooks. It's difficult for me to see even at 15' away (at my kitchen table). Lots of room for a larger display so, yes, I am disappointed in this very important aspect. Otherwise I'm delighted.

I Want To Like The Stove But....

We had to wait nine months to receive our KitchenAid Double Oven. We use LP gas with the stove. I am disappointed in the heat output of the burners. The griddle can barely cook a crepe. On the largest burner, on full power, when I boil a large pot of water with the lid on I can get it to boil but when I remove the lid, the burner can not keep it boiling. We had a service person adjust things but this is as good as it gets, I guess. Unfortunately we like to cook.

I've had it for three years after my 18 year old Jenn-Air failed. Pros: Fit between my cabinets. It is white which is very hard to find. Has two ovens. Cons: Ovens are gas, not electric. Ovens don't heat evently, cookies etc. burn on one edge, not done in the middle of pans. Large and medium burners take a LONG time to boil a small to medium pan of water, FOREVER for a large pan. The burners heat the microwave and hood above them to the point I need to use pot holders to touch them. The knobs on the front of the stove also need pot holders to touch them and now the metal is peeling off and I almost got cut (not covered under the basic or extended warranty). The griddle burner doesn't get hot enough to cook a pancake or bacon. When the bottom door opens all the way it hits the floor. Only the top over broils - doesn't fit a roasting pan. Can't start the burners with a match when there is no electricity. Can't use the burners when it is in cleaning mode. Can clean only one over at a time. In cleaning mode the top is very hot. In cleaning mode and when the ovens are used, very hot air is coming out the back of the burners. Definitely need a strong vent fan above this unit. Can't turn on one oven light at a time. Can't turn off oven lights when door is open.

Great Gas Double Oven!!

We bought this Gas Double Oven in November 2022, and it was delivered two weeks ago (7/23.) It is a wonderful, reliable appliance, and I am very happy with our purchase. The griddle unit has been excellent for grilled cheese sandwiches and pancakes. Recommendations for Features: 1. Independent lights for Upper and Lower Ovens 2. FIX THE KNOBS

1. The stove itself functions beautifully for us. It has its issues. Not perfect but, 100% usable and functional. -We have it in white, the stove top itself is hard to get clean but the finish has remained solid. -The top oven's grate is hard to pull out bc of its closeness to the opened door. -The lower oven takes a LONG time to heat up but, the upper oven makes up for that annoyance with how fast it can preheat. 2. We waited for 6-9 months to get this after paying for it. The people complaining about a couple weeks have obviously never been inconvenienced by more than a hangnail in their lives. Unless you're going to the big box store and they have it in the storeroom, you're going to wait. 3. My GRIPE!: There are people reviewing for YEARS on here about the ridiculous PLASTIC tape knobs warping, peeling, and getting sharp. FIX THEM! I am struggling to not use expletives to fully explain my feelings on this. They are SHARP. My (well old enough) kids are no longer allowed to use the stove because about time one of them ends up with the cuts I have experienced due to these knobs I'll be going to media and seeking legal advice. WHY are knobs above double ovens WRAPPED in PLASTIC!!? And not only plastic but, a tape-like material that's shrinkwrapped around what appears to be a better quality material. I'll BUY a set of solid knobs. Just make the things! GAHH! 4. Secondary gripe: The "bezels". (FYI When you call to complain about those falling off your stove....That's the name for the decorative part behind the knob that is stuck to the stove front with double sided tape.) Double. Sided. Tape.... Above the ovens on your stove. These are also wrapped in plastic and are warping. But, these are falling off the stove and aren't necessary to the functionality so, I'll just go without when they all finally bite the dust. I mean... why use bolts or screws or .... anything other than tape and glue on a stove that you might occasionally use a degreaser on. LOL 5. The appliance store we bought this from is trying to making it right for us. They ordered us another set of knobs and have been so kind and helpful. The knobs came in and they feel lighter and more flimsy than the originals. We'll see if they are better about the warping but, they appear to be made the same way just with thinner materials. Not pleased with Kitchenaid.

Scratches easily

Have had the stove for 6 years now. I am very careful, am the only one using or cleaning this appliance, but it scratches easily with the grates and burners. Performance of the appliance has been satisfactory, and has not needed repairs. The pipe area for gas is not standard, so the stove sits a couple of inches away from the wall.

Round two of Oven Repair on a 3 year old oven.

We are about to have our second service call. The first call, regarding the oven, cost 200.00 over and above the service call. I am a baker. Both ovens are so unreliable with temperature right now I can't bake until the next service call on the 17th. Very disappointing.

Our gas range with double oven is, sadly, a much regretted purchase. We replaced the igniters multiple times, one burner is completely broken, the gasket has had to be replaced, and - worst of all - the lower oven has a terrible time maintaining its temperature. I™€™ll set it for 550° and put a pizza in only to find that after 10 seconds in the oven the temperature is at 380°. This regularly frustrates me, and I™€™m hoping to save up for a new range and oven. I will avoid the KitchenAid brand! We also purchased a KA dishwasher - after nine repairs in two years we got rid of that - and a KA refrigerator. I do not recommend either.

I do very little cooking in the ovens - only used the bottom oven twice.... but somehow grease has found it's way BETWEEN THE TWO GLASS WINDOWS IN THE LARGE OVEN - someone is coming on 11/1/22 to take the oven door apart SO I CAN CLEAN IT.....not thrilled having to do that but really glad someone is coming to help me!!! Maybe I'll change my mind if they can fix the oven door...

She this stove was delivered the front panel was wrong marking on were how you turn the gas on so they sent us the wrong panel the we received the right panel which has chips on both sides so they are sending us a new panel which they will have to come out to install

Dual oven gas range

Replaced a Jenn Aire that was 10 plus years old ( dual oven and dual heat. The Kitchen Aid has the wide range top with removable griddle great feature. Knobs on front of stove very handy. The oven works great and I get several compliments Pom the cookies and cobbler I make.

Happy with oven so far

I am very happy with the range so far. We use the top oven all the time and it's great because we don't have to heat the whole oven. It's pretty tight, but serves our purpose. Purchased this on 6/1/22 in one state with a mid July pick up in the state we lived. It took a few phone calls to see where it was at and didn't end up getting until August. Good thing my electric stove still worked! Discovered it was damaged when we unpacked it and the griddle coating started coming off the first time it was wiped down, so I'm pretty disappointed with that.

It took me 2 years of research and reading reviews before I bought this stove, finally delivered 6 month later. It is beautiful! Very efficient, used top oven once. Had a rough time cleaning of the tape residue, what a pain. We thought it would be converted to propane for us and it wasn't. Cost over $700.00 to have a gas man convert took him 2 hours. Cant wait to do more with my range.
