Boiling in plastic interior is deal breaker

This is great kettle except for one major flaw, the plastic interior. No matter what high quality plastic it might be but it's still "plastic" and you never know when it'll start contaminating water. I would expect it to be stainless steel inside.

Luxurious in looks & perfect in performance.

Saw the proline series at The Bay after seeing them online. My small town does not have any stores to look at them in person so I had to see them in Ottawa. I like to see in person before I buy anything. Well, I saw that Kitchenaid had a father's day sale, so I bought this kettle then. I'm kicking my butt for not buying the pro line toaster at the same time, because when I went back to order it during the same sale, the black was sold out... you snooze you lose! Anyway, I love this kettle! The look of it to me has a vintage vibe with a modern led light twist on the base of this kettle. I love the fact that I can control the temperature of the water. (I have grandkids who don't like really hot drinks, like hot chocolate etc. I also don't like my drinks very hot, so being able to control it is great!) I should mention that it's cool enough to touch the outside of the pot, even after the water has been boiled, and the pouring of the water is fantastic too...no dripping back! When I first got it out of the box, I thought it was broken, because the lid wouldn't pop up. Not the case; the lid just needed a little help to unseal the first time with my fingernail, since it was packed in into its box nice and tight. The side "window" where you see the measurements for the water stays moist for a long enough time. That might cause some build-up over time I'm thinking... I hope not, but we shall see. The only thing I can think of to make this kettle better, would be to have the cord retract into the base some how? It's a big heavy duty cord, so I'm not sure how they could make that happen, but at least most of it tucks away under the base. (I don't keep things plugged in) I get so many compliments on this kettle from friends and family. It also looks great next to my Kitchenaid mixer as well. If you have been thinking about buying it, go ahead and treat yourself! It's definitely a high quality product that I'm sure you're going to love for a very long time.

Fast and awesome

Been using this for a few weeks now, can't believe I haven't bought an electric kettle sooner. It's so much faster and safer than stovetop. I love the temperature progress meter on the base and the cute "b ong" noise it makes. The retro styling is pretty cool, too. Some people have complained the water level window is hard to read but I don't feel that way about it.

I received this pro line series kettle about three years ago. It worked beautiful. Heats quickly and had no issues with it unless a couple of weeks ago. For some reason it would not heat up and kept beeping as if it was hot. I could not find an5 trouble shoo5ing solution to this problem. I decided to contact kitchen aid to help assist on where I could get this repaired. Wow to my surprise they sent me a new one within a week and I returned the broken one. This kettle comes with a five year warranty. No hassles no questions. They were so apologetic about the situation and corrected it immediately. Kitchen aid is the best. You cannot be the service and quality of their products. Thank you kitchen aid.

Easy to use but not reliable.

I bought this kettle in July 2016 and by August 2017 the kettle started to beep after a few seconds of plugging it in. In back then contacted info@kitchenaid.com by e-mail but nobody responded. As the kettle comes with 5 years warranty, could somebody from KitchenAid advise how to get an exchange? The thermostat feature is very useful, however it is not well calibrated. According to it water boils under 90C, however once you learn how to set it for your purpose, it is not a deal breaker. Design is nice, a bit bulky for a small kitchen countertop. For the top price I would have expected better quality, something that would last more. I would not recommend it as you have to invest time to get a return after around a year of use, however I love the thermostat feature.

Works well, easy to use

The water heats up fast. The kettle is not as bulky as I thought it was from the photos. The temperature selector is easy to use. The thermometer is clear. The look is nice. The only part that could be improved is the gauge that is inconveniently located behind the handle, which makes it hard to read. It is not a dealbreaker though.

Amazing!

I bought this so my wife and I can heat up water for our green tea. We travel a lot and I take this into the hotels with us. I have it for about 2 years now and it works perfectly!

Just Wonderful Kettle

I bought two Pro Line® electric kettles about 10 months ago: a red one for a gift and a grey one for ourselves. I would recommend this kettle everyone who needs the new one and appreciates top quality. It is very quiet, quick and convenient to use and it's also a design element.
